Did you get a fancy new diary or calendar for Christmas?  Or perhaps a new smartphone?  Well here are a few dates to note down to make sure you are really organised for the year ahead!

January 15

If you haven’t already applied to University then this date is a VERY important one – all applications need to be submitted to UCAS by 6pm on January 15.

It’s still a few days away so no need to panic just yet – make sure you read our step by step guide on everything that you need to include in your application.

Depending on the course you wish to apply for, you may be able to submit your application after this date, but if you have your heart set on a particular subject, then it’s wise to stick to the UCAS deadline so your application is given equal consideration against other applicants.

February 7

Are you thinking of studying at postgraduate level, or perhaps you want to further your career with a professional qualification?  Then make sure you’ve got a reminder set for February 7 and come along to our Postgraduate Open Evening.   This event will give you a taste of what it’s like to study at Wrexham Glyndwr and how you can fit it around your personal and professional life. It also gives you the opportunity to meet with course tutors and current postgraduate and professional students.

March 3

Our first Undergraduate Open Day of 2018 – if you are thinking of applying to Wrexham Glyndwr either this year, or for 2019 entry then coming along to one of our open days is a great way of getting to know the university and seeing what it has to offer.  If you’ve already applied here, then you’re still very welcome to attend as you’ll get the chance to meet the lecturers, chat with current students and take a tour of the campus and accommodation.  There are also talks and workshops covering a variety of subjects from fees and finance to submitting a portfolio.

If you can't make it to see us on March 3 we have plenty of other open days throughout the year - keep checking our website for further details.

May 3

If you applied to Wrexham Glyndwr by the Jan 15 deadline, then you’ll hopefully have had your offer by now as universities need to have made their decision by this date.  Fingers crossed!

June 30

Whilst UCAS remains open even after the January 15 deadline, the final, FINAL closing date for university applications is June 30.  If you haven’t submitted your application by this date, then you’ll be automatically entered into the clearing process.

July 5

The date that Clearing officially opens – all available places will be displayed on the UCAS website.  If you’ve only recently decided to apply or you weren’t offered any places on your first choice of course then this gives you a good opportunity to see which courses still have places left.
If there are still places available at Wrexham Glyndwr, then we welcome your application during the Clearing process – just give our admissions team a call and they’ll be able to take you through everything step-by-step.

August 16

If you’re applying to university via the traditional route then this will be the culmination of all that hard work you’ve put in: A-Level Results Day!  You’ll find out whether or not your grades have met the requirements of your conditional offer and those who have places confirmed will begin to receive their induction information.    If things haven’t quite gone to plan, then don’t worry.  Just contact our admissions team as part of the Clearing process – there may still be options available to you, whether that’s a slightly different course or taking a foundation year.

You can view the full list of Key Dates on our website – don’t forget to keep September free as that’s hopefully when we’ll see you here as a student of WGU!
