How studying will look in September: our blended learning approach
It is more than half way through August already and the summer holidays seem to be going very quickly! It will be September soon and the new term will be starting. It is always an exciting time to welcome our new starters and to see the return of our returning Wrexham Glyndwr University students!
It has been a challenging time for many over the last few months and some of you may be feeling a little apprehensive about the new academic year and how the start of term will be for you as we adapt to life after lockdown. We are here to reassure you, that the University has been working incredibly hard to ensure that you can continue your studies, have all the support you need, in a safe and secure way. This will include implementing our ‘new blended learning approach’.
Campus/university is not closed and not everything will be online. Your course will continue, and you will still be very much a part of our Wrexham Glyndwr community. Currently, it will just be a new unique way of approaching your studies and will not be a barrier to your learning.
We are positive that the new term will run smoothy and be successful for all our students, staff, and colleagues.
Here are just a few top tips to support you in beginning the new term:
Organisation and time management
As part of your studies will be online, you will need to set aside time in your day/evenings to access your lectures and complete your assignments. Perhaps you could create a weekly study timetable to remain focused on the tasks you need to complete.
We have a dedicated, supportive team of lecturers and university staff here to support you along the way. Please do send emails, arrange online meetings, or appointments on campus as and when you need to. The resources are all still here to assist you to complete your studies.
Enjoy your university journey!
It may be a little different to how other years have been, but that does not mean you can not make the most of your university experience. There will still be plenty of opportunities on offer, academically and socially. Remember to engage, work hard but enjoy and have fun along the way!
Best wishes for the rest of your summer break, and we will look forward to welcoming you all back in September!
