Studies (top up)
Why choose this course?
The BA (Hons) Childhood Studies top-up programme is an exciting opportunity to take your understanding and practice of childhood studies to the next level.
Unlike the foundation degree there is no requirement to be in employment to complete the BA (Hons) Childhood Studies as this programme is designed to encourage independent study, provide challenge and to deepen academic knowledge and understanding. However, we understand that many of our students will still be in employment whilst undertaking the BA and therefore we offer the opportunity to study over one or two years depending on your own work and family commitments. We want you to take the experiences and knowledge gained on your foundation degree and examine it in the light of contemporary academic thinking.
A key part of studying at level 6 is the chance to study a topic which has specific relevance or interest to your field of study or work. You will be guided and supported to undertake in-depth research which will lead to a research project where your chosen subject will come alive through data collection and analysis.
The BA (Hons) degree is offered to you as a fully supported e-learning programme. You will access the course through Moodle, the university’s virtual learning environment. This is an easy to use self-contained website which enables you to access the course materials, your tutors and the other students on the course.
