making an appointment

making an appointment

If you wish to make an appointment you should, first of all, contact your funding body for permission to be assessed and for confirmation that they will cover the cost of the assessment. You will need to provide the funding body with up-to-date evidence of your disability. This may include medical evidence or a report detailing any specific learning differences produced by an Educational Psychologist or appropriately qualified person. Your Disability Adviser at your University or College will be able to help you and advise you of how to obtain the necessary evidence required.

To arrange an assessment, you can contact Glynd┼Ár University Assessment Centre by telephone, by email or in person.

In person:

We are situated on the 3rd Floor of the Edward Llwyd Building. Our reception is open during the following times:

Monday to Thursday 9.30am to 4.30pm Friday 9.30am to 1pm.

Telephone: 01978 293594

Email: assessmentcentre@glyndwr.ac.uk

You may be asked what type of disability you have (according to the categories UCAS use) and whether there is any additional information about your disability we should be aware of. This question is asked so that the assessment centre can ensure that the DSA assessor your appointment is with is most suited to meeting your needs.

When you contact us please have your diary ready so you can ensure you are available for the appointment we book for you. When we have agreed a convenient date and time for your assessment, we will send you written confirmation of your assessment appointment, together with a map and directions on how to find us, and some details on what to expect during your assessment.

Current waiting time for Assessment:

The current waiting time for an assessment appointment is approximately 10 - 12 days. We may be able to see you sooner if we have any cancellations - please contact us for further information.

Our aim is to provide you with an appointment within 15 working days. If we cannot give you an appointment in this timeframe, we will give you details of other centres which may be able to see you sooner.

We offer Needs Assessments Monday – Friday with a range of appointment times. We will try and be as flexible as we can to accommodate your needs.
