Assistive Technology Training

Assistive Technology Training

If your Assessment of Need report recommends assistive technology training, you are strongly advised to take up this option. There is little point in being provided with specialist equipment or software if you are not sure how to use it.

This training is individually tailored and will not just focus on the operation of the technology but also the requisite study strategies, which will enable you to improve your learning skills. Even if you have good computer skills you'll probably find it helps to have an experienced trainer on hand to work out how assistive technology can help achieve study goals.

Training is carefully individualised to take account of your ability and IT skills, and so is suitable for beginners and experts alike. Our experienced IT trainer will take you through a series of hands-on exercises at your own pace so that you can build on existing skills and get the maximum benefit from your equipment.

You can also seek further training later on if you have had your equipment for a while and feel you need reminding how to use it properly.
