BSc Equine Science and Welfare Management

Full Time

During my time at Glyndwr I learnt so much, and my confidence grew. It gave me the thirst to know more and to act on it working on research. My seminars also gave me confidence, and now I talk publicly and fundraise for an equine charity. I would never have been able to do this before beginning at Glyndwr University. My writing has improved and now I am able to write for magazines and I have just finished a book proposal. It also updated my equine skills.

I am now waiting to start teaching about Equine Science. I have also raised many pounds for my horse charity. Getting a job at the age of 60 has been a highlight for me and teaching my passion, my love for horses.

I choose Glyndwr University because it was the right course for me, and it is a small friendly university. When I went to the university open day everybody was so helpful and kind. They listened to my needs.

I was very apprehensive and had no confidence at the start, and I was scared. I was assessed by Student Services for extra support for my disability. My self-esteem was nil, and I thought I was out of my depth coming to Glyndwr. My confidence grew and grew with lots of time and encouragement from my tutors.

The tutors had so much time (even in their lunch times) and would listen and support me. Sometimes as a student one thinks 'I cannot do this' but you are never alone. Tutors care for you and are with you every step of the way. I cannot express strongly enough how Glyndwr tutors helped me, AND everyone else!

My advice to anyone thinking of doing the course would be to never stop learning and always help someone if you can.

I would love to go on and do a Masters Degree with Glyndwr. This is a high recommendation that I want to return and do my further studies there.

Going to Glyndwr University, has trained my mind to be versatile, not black and white. It has helped me socially, in public speaking, and it has certainly given me faith to believe in myself. Something I could not do before going to Uni. A highlight for me was the day I realized I can actually do this. I can do this work and attain my degree.

“Glyndwr University is the best place for self-doubters! You must give it a go!”
