BA (Hons) Business Accounting (2012-2015)

MSc Business Management (2015/2016)

I finished my Masters a few months ago and since then I have had a few really interesting job offers. My current job involves informing customers about services and suggesting products/services that could suit them. I deal with a range of customers on a daily basis including phone and face to face appointments.

Since I finished at Wrexham Glyndwr University, I have wanted to work with people and help them to solve problems and queries. This is why I want to work in the customer service sector. I am now preparing to start a new job in banking customer service, so fingers crossed everything will go smoothly.

The time I spent doing my assignments, projects and attending lectures not only gave me the theory but also the courage to become somebody who I wanted to be in the future. Studying at Wrexham Glyndwr helped me to find a new job and start a career. Interacting with classmates on group projects and tasks taught me how to engage in meetings and speak to strangers. It really helped me to learn how to work in a team, which is really important.

I always wanted to study abroad. My brother was the only family I had in the UK so I moved to Wrexham just to be close to my family and to be able to study at University. Whilst I was studying, I also worked. It was difficult balancing working and still being focused on lectures. Sometimes it was hard to find the motivation to study as I was working late shifts in a restaurant. However, employment and university taught me many valuable skills which now look great on my CV and gave me a lot of experience, which I am sure helped me after graduating.

To anybody wanting to work in a similar field, the only advice I can give is to be patient and have a friendly attitude. Customer service is marketing. A company might spend many years building a positive and trustful relationship with customers. By understanding the needs and wants of the customers, an employee can achieve a more enjoyable work experience and a higher level of customer satisfaction.

I would highly recommend undertaking a course with Wrexham Glyndwr University as it has very friendly staff and highly competent lecturers, who always help when you need them. Moreover, the assignment and group projects will help potential students to develop their skills and learn something new.

It is hard to choose one favourite memory from my time at Wrexham Glyndwr University, but one of my favourite memories was my graduation. It was a wonderful experience. I was very proud that I had achieved a lot and finished my course. This year I will be able to celebrate another graduation as I have finished my Masters course. During my time at university I also met some really good people who have become good friends.
