Wrexham Glyndwr University was recommended to me by a colleague who studied their MBA there a few years ago.
However, the three most prevalent reasons for choosing the university were the flexible approach to part-time study, the course structure as modules are more contemporary than most MBA programs (many are delivered by seasoned experts and renowned practitioners rather than academics), plus the course is intensive (a part-time MBA is generally three years, this course is completed in approximately 18 months).
The course is a level 7 programme, therefore academically it is right up there, but the sheer amount of work also needs a disciplined mind set.
Meeting new people from different industries and different job functions allows each to better understand business problems for many different perspectives. You form very close, potentially lifelong relationships with these people.
The course has really helped with my confidence; I am now much more self-assured talking to senior or executive managers about work-related tactics and strategy, but also more confident generally meeting new people.
Wrexham Glyndwr is a friendly environment and the eMBA is positioned to attract established professionals. This means the learning is facilitated by the lecturers and given depth and perspective from the cohort.
I have already received a promotion into a senior management/leadership role within 12 months of starting the program. Without doubt the eMBA program facilitated this achievement, but equally prepared myself to take on the new challenge.
