What were you doing before coming to Wrexham Glyndwr University?

Before coming to Glyndwr, I was studying at a different university. After studying there for seven months, I decided it wasn’t for me and I then put in an application for Glyndwr, which I am so glad I did.

What attracted you to Wrexham Glyndwr University?

There were so many reasons why I wanted to study here, the fact that it’s on the doorstep was a huge plus! I heard great things about the course before I sent in my application and had been to the uni many times for workshops while I was at school and college.

What’s the atmosphere like around campus?

The atmosphere around campus is fantastic, it feels like a community built up of so many different and wonderful people.

What do you enjoy most about your course?

My course is brilliant, no day is the same and that is why I enjoy it so much. There’s a broad range of subjects within the media that we study, so I have the option to go down many paths in the future. From starting here, the amount of experience and opportunities this course has given to me has been endless. I never thought I’d get so much experience in such a short space of time.

What do you hope to do when you graduate?

When I graduate, I hope to be working at BBC Radio 1, maybe producing, and sports commentary are the two main goals I want to achieve after leaving.

What has the support been like?

From the very beginning, the support available here has been great. The lecturers are very supportive and the Academic Support and Student Finance staff always have time to help you. Whether it be an academic problem or personal, there are so many people across the university that can help.

How do you think you have benefited from studying at Wrexham Glyndwr University?

Glyndwr has given me so much more than I expected, but most importantly, I’ve found my confidence. Now that I’ve managed to gain some confidence, my social skills have benefited massively.

If you were to sum up your experience at Wrexham Glyndwr University in one word what would it be and why?

Unpredictable! I feel this is the perfect adjective to describe my experience because no day is ever the same and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I could be in a lecture room one day and out filming the next. I love having days where you have no idea what it will entail, it keeps it exciting!
