Colette is a registered nurse working within the Betsi Cadwaldr University Health Board and is studying our MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. Read her story here:
I worked in an acute hospital setting initially but have developed my nursing career in district nursing and continue to do so. I have been intermittently studying at Wrexham Glyndwr University for 13 years, gaining standalone modules, BSc (Hons) Specialist Practitioner and now the Advanced Clinical Practice qualification. My professional development required university credits so attending Wrexham Glyndwr University was the natural choice for me.
I have enjoyed the opportunity to develop personally and professionally in my career. During my studies, I have had the pleasure of being taught by a genuinely dedicated and supportive team.
I have always found the support to be excellent, not just on the academic side but the university support services too; having dyslexia myself. I have admired and valued the continued commitment shown by the team which provides an invaluable role modelling ethos for nursing.
When I graduate, I will be a qualified advanced clinical practitioner and will continue to develop in my current role and providing the advanced skills I have gained at Wrexham Glyndwr University to patients in the NHS.
