Adam is studying BA Hons Hospitality, Tourism and Events Management.
What were you doing before coming to Wrexham Glyndwr University?
Before starting Wrexham Glyndwr I had been studying Catering and Hospitality in Coleg Cambria for 3 years. I left with a level 3 Supervisory of Food and Beverage qualification as well as a level 3 Catering qualification.
What attracted you to Wrexham Glyndwr University?
Wrexham Glyndwr University has always stood out to me since leaving secondary education as it’s always been a focal point of what Wrexham is all about, Diversity. The choice in business related courses attracted me as well as all the advice from the staff at open days who seemed really passionate about their jobs and courses and this made me feel very confident about picking WGU.
What’s the atmosphere like around campus?
The atmosphere around campus has a nice relaxed and friendly feel about it and there are loads of places you can go to have some quite time in between or after lectures from the coffee shops to the student union.
What do you enjoy most about your course?
The thing I enjoy most about my course is that we get the chance to meet people who work in the Hospitality, Tourism and Events business. This makes it more enjoyable as we get the opportunities to ask questions and get first-hand information from a variety of people.
What do you hope to do when you graduate?
After graduation I am hoping to get more experience within the industry before starting my own business and put the skills and knowledge I have learnt into action.
What has the support been like?
The support at Glyndwr is great as there is always someone to help you with any problems or questions you have.
How do you think you have benefited from studying at Wrexham Glyndwr University?
I have become more confident when talking to and in front of people and this really helpful as I can ask questions and voice my opinions in lectures without feeling anxious.
If you were to sum up your experience at Wrexham Glyndwr University in one word what would it be and why?
The word I would choose is Inspired, the reason is that no matter how you are feeling and no matter what you are studying you always feel like a part of something and are always learning every step of the way.
