Graduating from Harrow in 1995 with a degree in Workshop Ceramics before going on to complete an MA in Applied Arts, Wayne teaches Ceramics within the Applied Arts programme.
In his own work he examines the possibilities with wood fired Anagama kilns, producing work with the firing in mind, creating and making marks in the clay with the intention of catching the ash from the fire, which at sustained temperatures turns to glaze, thus pooling as it runs over the work.
Wayne exhibits extensively and is behind the annual international ceramics selling event Ceramic Wales, based in Wrexham.
