Tim completed his PhD in the physiology of racing and training in rowing in 2005 and commenced work as a lecturer in sports development at Manchester Metropolitan University before taking up a post as senior lecturer in physiology and performance analysis at Glynd┼Ár University.

Tim is a keen rower. He has won 8 national rowing championships, has represented GB at indoor rowing, won a bronze medal for Wales in the 2002 Commonwealth Games and also holds the world record for 24 hours on a rowing ergometer. He has coached athletes that have gone on to win national, world championship and Olympic medals in rowing.
