Julie explores materials on a daily basis, researching and teaching jewellery and metalwork techniques.
She uses making as a way of understanding different cultures and civilisations, trying lost techniques and hand making processes.
By combining her degree in applied arts where she focused on silversmithing with a previous degree in textiles, she brings her love of texture to the forefront. By patinating metals in ways akin to natural processes she shows us the beauty of organic forms, transformed into wearable treasures.
