Jackie Raven is a UKCP registered psychotherapist with an MA in TA Psychotherapy and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education. She works part-time at the University and delivers lectures on the Therapeutic Child Care Programme as well as the Counselling and Psychotherapy Courses.

She has over 20 years’ experience in the field, working as a as a practitioner, trainer and supervisor in the private and public sectors. She has worked for the NHS in a hospital setting as well as GP surgeries, Local Authorities, charities and children’s agencies. Jackie maintains a private psychotherapy practice with adults and couples. She also runs a supervisory practice for other practitioners and  a consultancy business mainly used by children’s agencies and Local Authorities.

Her area of expertise is working directly with children that have experienced trauma in their formative years, training and consulting with carers and developing programmes to enable a greater understanding of the effects of trauma on children and young people.
