Helen has 23 years experience within occupational therapy and specialises within neurology.Helen worked at the Countess of Chester NHS Foundation Trust from 1989 where she developed the occupational therapy neurological provision and was Occupational Therapy Service Manager and within the Therapy Director rotation.

Helen became employed in Glyndwr University in 2004 to initiate and develop the BSc (Hons) occupational Therapy programme.Helen accepted a permanent position in 2006 and is now Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy.Helen maintains clinical role with an honorary contract in Chester, provides occupational therapy advice to Nightingale House, Wrexham and works closely with the Clwyd Branch of Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Helen was successful in 2012 to gain PhD fellowship funding of 55k through RCBC Wales where her study is entitled "Purposeful occupation and its effect on motor neurone disease symptomology". 

She is a keen runner primarily of half marathon distance.

Helen is a volunteer within Clwyd Branch Motor Neurone Disease Association where she has increased awareness of this disease, supported people who have MND and helped to fundraise for the Association.
