I completed a degree in Geography at Aberystwyth University in 1995 and my PGCE in 1996.

Between 1996 and 2004 I taught in mainstream schools within Wales teaching Geography to GCSE and History and Welsh (2nd language) at KS3 and taught as a supply teacher within primary schools and worked with adult learners at a Welsh language night class. I have been an assistant examiner for GCSE Geography examinations since 2001.

Between 2004 and 2014 I worked as a teacher within the alternative education setting of a pupil referral unit with pupils in KS2 – KS4 who displayed a range of additional learning needs including SEBD and ASD.
