Bo Liu received the B.S. degree from Tsinghua University, China, in 2008 and the Ph.D. degree from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, in 2012. From October 2012 he was a Humboldt Research Fellow, working with the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany.

In 2013, he took up a permanent post as a Lecturer at Glyndwr University. He was promoted to Reader in Computer-aided Design in 2016. His research interests lie in computational intelligence techniques for engineering design automation, electrical/electronic/electromechanical design and design automation, and human-computer interaction for engineering software.

Bo Liu has authored or co-authored one book and more than 40 papers in renowned international journals and conference proceedings. He is on the editorial board, or a reviewer, in artificial intelligence and electronic design automation fields for more than 20 international journals, conferences and publishers.
