Angela Ferguson is an experienced and award-winning media professional, combining her lecturing work at Wrexham Glyndwr University with freelance journalism and running her own arts and culture website, We Are Chester.

She also writes for Manchester-based webzine Northern Soul, along with presenting on Flipside Community Radio in Chester.

Angela also has a background in newspaper journalism, having produced news and feature content for the Leader group of newspapers and the Lancashire Evening Post.

Angela is particularly passionate about feature writing and human interest stories, with her career to date having given her the privilege of meeting the people behind the news headlines, from charity fundraisers and people triumphing over adversity to top politicians and a Prime Minister.

She also enjoys writing arts and culture-based features and a particular highlight for her was when she interviewed and even got singing tips from singer, broadcaster and author Cerys Matthews.

Angela also has wide-ranging press and public relations experience, having worked across the public, private and charity sectors for organisations including a national parenting charity and aviation giants Airbus. During her time at Airbus, she and her team won a Chartered Institute of Public Relations award for their work with Olympic medallist Kriss Akabusi in organising a sports festival for schools.
