Intro to Live Sound
This course is designed to demystify the technology from a musician’s perspective. It will cover topics that will help you to achieve a professional sounding performance with the equipment that you own. It is not essential that you have any background in live sound, as it will include a grounding in the principles that are taken for granted by professionals in the field. Whether you perform in small venues with a vocal rig, large festivals with a rock band or even sing on your local karaoke the course will provide you with the confidence to make informed decisions on the type of equipment you use and the settings to make it sound great.
What will you study?
This course will cover the basic principles of sound and how this affects the choice of equipment for a task.

- Sound as energy
- How we transfer from acoustic to electricity
The course will run for 10 weeks commencing on the following dates:-
28th January 2019 6-8pm
13th May 2019 6-8pm
Centre for Creative Industries Building
Students will be assessed through a portfolio created throughout the course that demonstrates the key skills and attributes delivered in the lecture/workshop series.
This fee covers attendance and tutorage, including assessment.
