Leadership and Professional Issues / Practice

The module aims to enhance students’ critical awareness of contemporary professional issues and their insight into the cultural, political and professional dimensions of leadership within health and social care organisations.
What you will study
This module will teach students to:
- Critically examine theories of organisations and organisational leadership and management as applied to health care
- Critically reflect on their own leadership style and attributes, analysing and evaluating the impact this could have on team performance, service delivery and development
- Critically evaluate their role in both leading and working in partnership with other professionals, agencies and clients
- Critically analyse leadership skills needed to manage projects/initiatives within the student’s field of practice.
20 credits Level 6 & 7
This course will run for 12 half days. It will run on Wednesday mornings starting on 03.02.21.
