Getting Started with Games: 3-D Sculpting
This is a short course offering an affordable and challenging opportunity to sketch and sculpt on screen, learning about the applications and functions in Photoshop and Mudbox, as you learn about the design process of making game play more exciting and enjoyable. The limited group size means there will be one to one help on hand if you need guidance or advice.
What will you study?
This course will introduce you to Photoshop and Mudbox as you learn ways to enrich game play experiences with character and individuality. The course begins by finding out about the software available for you to use and ways in which ideas can be developed and shared between designers. You will be shown ways of creating virtual objects and how to place them in situations and environments associated with game play. Using the software you will learn to develop textures and surfaces to objects and how light and filters affect them, as you refine your digital sculpture for export. Finally you will learn how to document your design work and present it professionally.
