Why Study Chinese?

Beautiful handwriting, melodic spoken language, and poetic phrasing together with more than 5,000 years of splendid traditions in literature, the arts, and cuisine make learning Chinese an exploration and adventure.

Chinese Is Important For Your Career! China is and will be an important business and economic partner of the U.S. and the world and increasingly plays a major role in world affairs in the future. According to the Asia Society, “The rise of China presents new economic, political and social realities that demand greater U.S. engagement at every level. As the foundation of that engagement, we urgently need to raise the number of people who can demonstrate a functional proficiency in Chinese.”

Chinese Is Useful! Talking Chinese can actually improve your mental power by learning how to arrange your thoughts into an alternative pattern or organization as well as helping you to understand Chinese culture, literature and history
