Avid Pro Tools – User Level Course
This short course covers the Avid Pro Tools ‘User’ Level Curriculum content for 101 and 100 qualifications. It will introduce you to the software and hardware concepts and teach you how to use media production editing techniques and strategies for balancing and finalising sound for Media.
Avid Certification is recognised worldwide and helps professionals attain and demonstrate the skills and credentials they need to increase their value, competency, and efficiency in the highly competitive media industry.

1. Background: The History of Pro Tools and principles of Digital Audio
2. Pro Tools hardware and software concepts
3. Pro Tools Editing processes
4. Pro Tools Recording processes
5. Pro Tools MIDI
6. Pro Tools Mixing processes
7. Pro Tools Finalisation processes
8. Industry workflows for Pro Tools
Delivery will be via blended learning activities with a mixture of live sessions, recorded online content and some onsite attendance on campus.
This course runs for 12 weeks. This course requires approximately 3 hours per week of study with additional self-directed study.
This course starts the week commencing May 24th 2021 and it will finish on the week ending August 13th 2021.

There will be a mandatory Glyndwr assessment of student learning in the form of a weekly Blog (guideline length of 300 words) and an online quiz. The Avid certification will be optional and takes the form of a timed online exam which has to be invigilated by our Glyndwr Avid Certified Instructor.
