Postgraduate Bursary Regulations
Academic Year 2018/19
Full Time One Year MA in Public Service Leadership
1) Scope of the Regulations
1.1) These Regulations apply to students (under the age of 60) Welsh and EU domiciled.
1.2) Cost of Study
2.1) Bursaries under these Regulations are available to the following groups of students:
Those who are undertaking their studies at:
Wrexham Glyndwr University Plas Coch Campus
Wrexham Glyndwr University Northop Campus
Wrexham Glyndwr University St Asaph Campus
Advanced Composites Training & Development Centre Campus
2.2) Students who have not previously enrolled for a postgraduate award and not completed their intended programme of study
2.3) The Bursary cannot be retrospectively applied to previous academic years
2.4) The Bursary is not applicable to students studying at Franchise or Partner institutions
2.5) The Bursary is awarded on a first come first served basis to eligible students who accept their offer by Monday 14th January 2019.
2.6) There are a limited number of bursaries available and will be allocated in accordance with 2.5
(i) Student bursary only applies to the 1-year full time MA in Public Service Leadership commencing Monday 14th January 2019
(ii) Students must be in attendance for the full academic year
(iii) the Bursary is in the form of a fee-waiver as per the table above, no cash equivalent will be paid
(iv) students in receipt of the bursary are responsible for the difference in fees between the value of the bursary and the full fees for the programme, together with any additional costs associated with, and applicable to, the MA Public Service Leadership programme
(v) The bursary cannot be used in conjunction with any other scholarship, bursary or other fee discount puckered offered by Glyndwr University
(vi) Students who do not complete the MA in Public Service Leadership within the normal 1-year academic timeframe will be liable for the full amount of any additional fees associated with the continuation of their study
(vii) The Bursary cannot be deferred to a subsequent year of entry or to another programme
4) Payment of Tuition Fee
4.1) Students are liable for the fee £5,600.00 upon enrolment. Students are able to pay the fee on an instalment basis in the following way;
First instalment is one third (£1,867.00) payable by 28/02/2019
Second Instalment is one third (£1,867.00) payable by 31/05/2019
Third Instalment is one third (£1,866.00) payable by 31/08/2019

4.2) Debt to the University
Failure to pay their tuition fees in full by the required deadlines may result in students being withdrawn from the programme, and students’ details being referred to a debt collection agency engaged by the University.
5) Student Withdrawal, suspension or Transfer
If a student withdraws, is suspended or transfers to another institution during the current academic year, the student will not be entitled to the bursary and will be liable for 100% of the fees due. The 100% fee due will be £9,000.00 minus any instalments already made to the University towards the tuition fee up to the date of the suspension, withdrawal or transfer.
6) Changes to the Bursary Regulations
The University reserves the right to alter or add to these Regulations in the following circumstances:
(i) In response to changes external to the University, for example, those made by the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW), Student Finance Wales (SFW)
(ii) Where, at its absolute discretion, the University believes that an error or omission has been made in the Regulations.
Where changes are made to these Regulations the University will notify all appropriate students by email prior to any change coming into effect.
