Overview of the programme
Develop your artistic skills and understanding of research driven practice through our MA Art Practice course.
As your creativity matures, this course will allow you to advance your skills through the practice of contemporary and traditional methods of production, reflective approaches to studio activity and academic enquiry.
The course provides a foundation for research activity, from which some students go on to take PhD studies.
Much of the learning is “situation based” – meaning your experience is not dictated by materials, but the context in which your work is developing, both in terms of how the research informs your practice and how the work you do informs the need for future development. You will also have the opportunity to exhibit work and to take part in live commisions as opportunity allows.
