Information Governance provides the framework to bring together all the legal rules, guidance and best practice that apply to the handling of information and ensures information risks are minimised. Data protection is one matter of information governance and for matters relating to data protection, the University has a nominated Data Protection Officer.
Information Governance has three main principles: confidentiality, integrity and availability. All staff should familiarise themselves with the GDPR summary and GDPR principles, and raise awareness of the changes in your team. These pages will continue to be updated with further advice and guidance, if you would like to see more information on a particular IG topic please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
