Talks and events

Wrexham Glynd┼Ár University Open Day,

Below is a guide to what's on at a typical open day. Talks and events for Saturday, March 2 will be confirmed at a later date.  

University's sports hall

Registration 10am – 1pm (the University will remain open to visitors until 2pm)

Academic staff will be available from 10am to 2pm

  • Science department providing tours of lab facilities.
  • Tutors from Creative Media Technology showcasing our TV, Sound and Music Technology facilities within the Centre for Creative Industries.
  • Find out more about our Merlin flight simulator and the home of Glyndwr Racing in our Engineering Department.
  • 1-to-1 advice on student funding and welfare matters

Enquiries and Admissions team will be on hand to offer advice on Personal Statements and Interview Guidance.

Edward Llwyd Centre Lecture Theatre A

12pm                      Sport (incl. Sports Coaching, Football Coaching and Sport, Health & Performance Science)

Edward Llwyd Centre Lecture Theatre B

10.45am                    Occupational Therapy

11.30am               Education, Family and Childhood Studies

Disability Support will be available in the library to provide one-to-one advice and guidance. 

The Careers Centre is open for drop-in advice and guidance

John Troth Lecture Theatre A

A room within our Wrexham village accommodation block will be available to view outside of these hours if you are unable to make the talks.

School of Creative Arts

Subject-specific talks/workshops

11.30am          Design (including Animation, Game Art, Graphic Design, Graphic Novels, Illustration, Visual Effects)

12pm               Portfolio Workshop

1pm                 Applied & Fine Arts (including Ceramics, Glass, Jewellery, Metal Work, Drawing, Installation, Painting, Printmaking, Photography & Film, Sculpture)

Guided tours of the building will take place at:

10.15am               11.15am               12.15pm               1.15pm

NB: The art school is based just off campus, on Regent Street. Shuttle buses will be available throughout the day to take visitors between here and the main campus.
