Plan your day
Before you get here
Don't forget to book online before you visit us - this will enable us to get an idea of numbers on the day, although you are still welcome to come along if you haven't registered!
Our open day runs from 10am – 2pm with last entry at 1pm. You can drop in throughout the day, however, don't forget to check out our list of activities and subject talks so you don't miss something that's important to you.
Need to know where we are? Read our travel advice for more information.
When you arrive at Wrexham Glyndŵr, please head to the University's sports hall. If you've registered online, you'll need to print off your booking confirmation (or show it on your phone) so we can scan you in - if you haven't booked you'll just need to register with our booking-in staff on the day.
Please note that visitors wishing to see our Northop Campus will need to make their own travel arrangements.
Tailor the day to suit you
Have a browse through our website or prospectus and make a list of the undergraduate courses you’re interested in – this way you’ll have a good idea of which talks you’d like to attend and which people you’d like to meet. Academics from each course will be on hand to discuss our degree programmes with you.
You can view our current list of talks and events here so you can schedule your day around the ones you are interested in.
View our diverse study facilities
Walking round campus you'll be able to see our facilities such as the Centre for the Creative Industries and our engineering labs where you can see our flight simulator and performance car laboratories.
Just a ten minute walk from the main campus is our School of Creative Arts which will also be open to visitors – a shuttle bus service will be running throughout the day.
If you are interested in our land-based programmes, why not make arrangements to visit our Northop campus too.
Take a campus tour
We have lots of student ambassadors on hand during our open days to show you around the main campus and give you an insight on what it’s like to live and study at Wrexham Glyndŵr. Tours run every 30 minutes so even if you have other events to attend, you should be able to fit one into your schedule. Whilst we'd love to offer you year round sunshine here, that's one thing we can't guarantee on the day so don't forget your umbrella, just in case!
If unfortunately you can't make our open day, you can still arrange to have a tour of the campus at a date to suit you - find out more about our personalised campus tours here.
Download our map
Take a look at our campus map and download a copy in advance to help you find your way around. Don’t worry if you forget to bring a copy with you – you can pick up a copy on the day when you check in.
View our student accommodation
Living away from home for the first time can be great fun if a little daunting so it's good to familiarise yourself with your surroundings. Meet our residential and campus life team, take a tour around the halls and learn more about your accommodation options.
Head into Wrexham town centre
Our main campus is only a ten-minute walk to the Town Centre so why not take a stroll and take a look at what Wrexham has to offer. If you don't fancy the walk, take our Regent Street shuttle bus and you'll be dropped right at the edge of town.
Relax and take it all in
Open days can be a bit hectic and you might feel bombarded by information so take some time out just to take it all in. Explore the University grounds or why not grab a coffee or a bite to eat at our on-site canteen, United Kitchen.
Let fellow students - and us - know how you’re finding the open day by tweeting us @glyndwruni – don’t forget to use #WGUopenday in your tweets! You can also find us on Facebook or Instagram - so don't forget to take lots of pictures while you're here!
This is the most important thing to remember! There is absolutely no pressure at any of our open days - just come along and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
If you do have any questions before the open day, then please do not hesitate to contact our team on 01978 293439 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that photographs and footage will be taken throughout open day events. These will be used by the University for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website and in social media or in any third party publication.
