An Introduction to the UK Construction Industry
This course allows you to study the principles and practice of construction management in the UK and apply your knowledge to realistic scenarios.
In particular, you will study a Development Management module that will familiarise you with the Law of Contract and a range of standard contracts that are available. You will then go on to the application and administration of these contracts up to the point of final settlement. Resolution of disputes will also be covered.
Managing a Construction Project as part of an Interprofessional Team will be a major part of the course. Legislative and client requirements will be addressed and their effect on the building industry will be assessed.
In addition to your subject-specific modules, there will be instruction in English to help you with the technical terms that you will need to study successfully.
