This course is ideal for those with an interest in computer games as it provides knowledge, understanding and technical skills for learners wishing to gain an insight into Computer Games Design and Development, Animation, Digital Graphics, and Special Effects Production.
You may choose to study on our Computer Game Development summer school, purely for the interest value. We have, however; also designed this course as a pathway onto the final year of our BSc (Hons) Computer Game Development degree.
You will be taught through workshop-based sessions that encourage hands-on experience in industry standard software and techniques, using modern software and hardware to produce 2D games, 3D game levels, game design documents, concept art, digital images, digital sound, and animated 3D models and environments. You will also learn about the games industry, game story development, and games platforms.
You will undertake both design and practical work in a state-of-the-art game technology laboratory. Working as a member of a development team, you will use cutting edge computer hardware and modern game development environments.
This programme incorporates 2D/3D character animation, game design and programming for the Internet and modern game platforms (such as PlayStation 3), along with interface design and the game development life cycle.
