Summer School

Our Summer Schools are the perfect way to experience a mixture of academic lectures, engaging study sessions, exciting social activities and university life here at Wrexham Glyndŵr.

We offer two Summer Schools, which take place from Monday, July 1 until Friday, July 26 (Computing & Business) and Monday, July 29 until Friday, August 23 (Engineering Top-up) offering a range of undergraduate-level programmes with a fresh approach to traditional academic subjects. You’ll experience a mixture of academic lectures, engaging study sessions and exciting social activities. 

Courses

You may choose to study at one of our Summer Schools purely for the interest value. However, all of our courses offer university credits and some offer top-up pathways leading to full undergraduate qualifications. Check out the links below for more information regarding specific courses:

Accommodation

The Summer School is designed as a fully residential programme providing you with a chance to strengthen your academic, personal and transferable skills in a welcoming environment where you will also be able to meet and make new friends. While you are with us you will stay in our premium accommodation, Wrexham Village.

As an added bonus you can enjoy the opportunity to explore more of England and Wales due to our ideal location. Whether you’re into exploring the great outdoors or more about relaxing with some city sights, we have something for everyone on our doorstep. 

Fees

All of our courses cost £1050 (including deposit). This includes:
  • Technical tuition
  • English language tuition
  • Accommodation
  • Airport Transfers (subject to availability)
  • Cultural visits

Accommodation is allocated on a first come first served basis in our premier Wrexham Village.

A £50 non-refundable deposit** will secure your place, leaving a balance of £1000 payable before arrival. All payments will use our secure online card payment system.

On receipt of your deposit, you will shortly after, receive an email with instructions on how to select and reserve your accommodation. The email should arrive within three weeks of your deposit payment date but in busy periods, this may take a little longer.

**The demand for these programmes is normally high but in the event, a programme has insufficient students registered, it will not be offered. In such an event, any registered students will be offered an alternative programme or given a full refund of any fees paid.

Please be aware that non-EU students may need a visa in order to study at Wrexham Glyndŵr University. More information can be found here.


Entry Requirements

Our courses are open to UK and non-UK students over the age of 18, whatever your background or country of residence.
 
The Summer Schools typically don’t require any previous knowledge and therefore provide an ideal chance to discover a completely new subject or personal interest. However, students on the Summer School should be at B2 level (or equivalent) in English language.
