Wrexham Glyndwr University is based in north east Wales. Our main campus in Wrexham is ideally located to give students a great experience of studying in the UK. Wrexham is a vibrant and safe town with plenty to see and do. Being only an hour from the major cities of Liverpool and Manchester but also having beautiful scenery, heritage and outdoor activities right on the doorstep gives students the ability to have it all.

We offer vocationally relevant courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a wide range of subjects including business, engineering, science, computing and the creative arts. Our career-focused facilities give students the ability to apply their knowledge and learn from practising their skills. Students are also given opportunities to engage with industry and showcase their work in competitions and exhibitions.

By choosing Wrexham Glyndwr University you will become part of a friendly, supportive community. Our lecturing teams are supportive with small class sizes meaning that students are able to easily gain support.

Entry requirements

If you’re currently studying, or already hold the school leaving certificate (Título de Bachillerato) then we look for an overall grade of 6.5 and 6 in any required subjects for entry onto the first year of our degree programmes. The required subjects will depend on the course you’re applying to study with us.  If you have, or intend to do, the common university entrance examination (PAU) this will strengthen your application.

Should you achieve less than 6.5 overall in the school leaving certificate, please get in touch as you may be considered for one of our four year (including foundation year) programmes.

We also accept the Bachillerato Unificado y Polivalente (BUP) when it is followed by the Curso de Orientacion Universitaria (COU) for 1st year entry.  We would need to see your academic transcript (Libro de Calificaciones) prior to making you an offer if you hold these qualifications.

Students with the Título Universitario Oficial de Diplomado en [subject area] may be able to start their undergraduate studies with us in the same subject area on a later year of entry.

For taught postgraduate study we will consider applicants with the Licenciado, the Título de Ingeniero or the Título de Arquitecto.  We look for a score of 6-8 or above.

For all levels of study, we’d also look for evidence of your English language ability. If you’ve taken an IELTS test, we’d look for:

  • Undergraduate – 6.0 overall, with no band below 6.0. Individual bands score of 0.5 below this required total may be considered.
  • Postgraduate – 6.5 overall with no band below 6.5. Individual band scores of 0.5 below this required total may be considered.

If you’ve taken another approved English language test, please contact us.
