Foreign Language Courses at Wrexham Glyndwr University
Ideal for those who wish to learn a language for work, travel or pleasure.
The courses focus on all four language skills in the following order: speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will also learn something of the culture of the country or countries in which the language is spoken.

For the academic year 2019/2020 we offer
Beginner level (CEFR A1)
Who is it for: People with no prior knowledge of the language to be studied
By the end of the course: you will gain a basic ability to communicate and exchange information in a simple way. You will have learnt to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases, be able to introduce yourself and others and ask and answer questions about personal details such as where someone lives, whom they know and things they have.

Elementary/Lower Intermediate level (CEFR A2)
Who is it for: People with some previous knowledge of the language to be studied.
By the end of the course: you will gain an ability to deal with simple, straightforward information and begin to express yourself in familiar contexts, understanding sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). You will be able to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters and have the ability to describe in simple terms aspects of your background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

Classes usually take place one evening a week resulting in 40hrs of learning activity and run from September/ October until a final exam in April.

£210 for UK/EU course participants, £280 for international course participants; Wrexham Glyndŵr University students and staff £140.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive 20 UK HE credits (10 ECTS).
