Health

Your health is important to us and while at Glyndŵr University, students are encouraged to register with a local doctor (if you are not already living locally).

The Student Safety, Health and Environment booklet  provides an A-Z of various information that you may need while studying with us at Glyndwr University. See the following document for local Health Clinics and Contact Details .

The university has two GP practices on site, both offering access to male and female doctors and providing a confidential service.

Students may register with either of these practices or with one of the variety of other practices in Wrexham.

Due to the national shortage of dentists, students are advised to have a check-up with their home dentist before they come to university and to keep their own dentist throughout their time here. However, there are emergency dental services available in Wrexham should the need arise.

The safety, health and environment department and students' guild run regular health promotion events throughout the year. These events aim to provide plenty of advice on healthy living, especially for those students living away from home for the first time. It also provides links to other health support groups.

Also on Glyndŵr University Plas Coch campus, there is an Acupuncture and Complementary Therapies Clinic  - an eight bed clinic which is open to treat the public, staff and students.

The student practitioners are closely supervised by qualified and experienced practitioners. Treatments include Acupuncture, Moxabustion, Cupping, Tuina Massage, Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology.
