BHS Approved Equine Unit
The BHS Approved Equine Unit and Exam Centre provides students with a range of excellent facilities suitable for practical sessions and events.
The superb purpose-built facilities at the campus include an indoor arena with viewing gallery (50x30), floodlit outdoor arena (60x40), stabling, paddocks and two cross country courses.
There are also the facilities for hacking in the grounds of the campus.
For those who are keen equestrians the unit is a popular venue for clinics and competitions held by associated and external parties, giving students extra opportunities to gain experience in such areas, often with top riders and well-renowned trainers and experts.
Educational and Seminar Centre
To service our academic needs, we have large and small teaching and conference/seminar rooms, the majority of which are equipped with an excellent standard of IT provision. These excellent facilities can be hired for external educational and corporate use. We also provide the option of a catering service for your meeting.
The refurbished sports Hall at the Northop Campus allows for basketball, badminton, netball, table tennis, 5 ‘a’ side football and volleyball.
Students can undertake activities throughout the day (subject to availability). All commercial recreational bookings are welcome and can be hired as a 'one off' or be block booked. The hall can also be used for events, promotions & educational activities (Catering option available). The campus also provides cross country running and orienteering courses, for people and horses.
In addition to the sports facilities on the Northop campus, students will have access to all the facilities available through the Sports Centre on the Wrexham Campus. These include a water-based international hockey pitch, a sand-based pitch for football, the Human Performance Laboratory and, inside the Sports Centre, a 1000sqm wooden sprung floor, dance studio, fitness suite and spectator facilities.
Corbishley Hall is ideally located on the Northop Campus. It provides modern, comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting, and is suited to quiet study away from the distractions of the town centre.
There are excellent communal facilities including a common room equipped with TV, pool table and dartboard. Externally there is a patio/bbq area, which provides additional space for socialising on warm evenings.
All student rooms are of a generous size and include bed, desk, washbasin and storage. Each room has fantastic views across the North Wales countryside.
For students who wish to stay in Wrexham, a free shuttle bus to Northop is provided during term-time.
