Sport and exercise sciences conference features international experts
LEADING figures from the world of sport and exercise sciences visited Glyndŵr University for a successful student conference.
The university’s ninth annual Sport and Exercise Sciences Conference featured international sports nutritionist Professor Don MacLaren of Liverpool John Moores University.
Also speaking at the event was Adam Owen, an alumnus of Glyndŵr University’s predecessor institute NEWI and now head of sports science at Rangers FC.
Professor MacLaren discussed how nutritional and scientific research underpins his work with Everton FC, Sale Sharks and Northampton Saints RFC.
Later in the day third year and masters students had the opportunity to showcase their research work to their peers.
Dr Duncan Mascarenhas, senior lecturer in sport and exercise psychology said: “Congratulations to all the presenters who handled the pressure well and passed on some top tips to the first and second year students on how to conduct their third-year dissertations.”
