Ray’s reiki marathon raises hospital funds
A 48-hour spiritual healing marathon at Glyndŵr University raised £407 for the Shooting Star ward at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
Ray Hill, 57, of Gresford, provided treatments of reiki, the Japanese holistic therapy, over two days in the university’s library building, where he works as a concierge.
He organised the fundraiser as a thank you to staff at the hospital ward, who helped his wife Jackie make a full recovery from bowel cancer.
Ray offered reiki treatments to staff, students and members of the public in return for donations to the Shooting Star ward.
He said: “The event went really well and I’d like to thank everyone who supported me – especially the library staff at Glyndŵr who allowed it to happen.
“All of the money raised is going towards a brilliant cause. Everyone at the Shooting Star ward was amazing when Jackie was there so I’m pleased to be able to give something back.”
