Conference to bring together leading creative minds
31 May 2012
Glyndŵr University is to host a conference focused on breaking down the barriers faced by people working in the creative industries.
The Cre8tiv Conference 2012 brings together the UK’s creative industries business community for two days of networking, learning and face-to-face business in the heart of North East Wales.
This two-day business-to-business event on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 July will be packed with new and innovative solutions and ideas to help companies grow their business, with invaluable regional solutions across a wide range of business areas.
The purpose of the conference will be to engage with local and national businesses in the creative industries.
The workshops will be heavily focused on the overall theme of the conference, ‘creative isolation’, an issue facing most creative industry businesses as well as the majority of freelancers or SMEs.
The aim of the conference will be to bring these like-minded businesses together to work in collaboration.
At Glyndŵr experts in the creative industries are on hand to offer advice and knowledge transfer. The university can provide facilities for business meetings on neutral ground and also has state-of-the-art equipment in its Centre for the Creative Industries, which is available for anyone to use.
The conference programme offers training, guidance, and opportunities to workers in the creative industries who are seeking to either enter the industry or enhance their competencies in a fast changing environment. Through talks, networking, and debates, participants can find inspiring ways to enhance their profile and start building strategic plans for their careers and discuss ways in which they can work together.
Ortis Deley former host on the Gadget Show will be keynote speaker on 19 July. He will kick off the first day of the conference with a speech and Q & A session, offering an opportunity for guests to ask any gadget- or technology-related questions.
