Complete University Guide rates Glyndŵr University top for UK student satisfaction in psychology

A LEADING survey has found psychology students are Glyndŵr University are the most satisfied with their course in the UK.
Independent website thecompleteuniversityguide.com has given the university’s division of psychology a score of 4.4 out of 5, placing it ahead of the illustrious likes of Cambridge and Oxford universities.
The division of Psychology was established in 2009 with the appointment of Professor Christopher Alan Lewis, and was accredited by the British Psychological Society within four months of their initial visit to monitor standards on the course.
Programme leader for psychology Phill de Prez said: “This is a credit to the team who are able to ensure that such high scores are achieved through the care and dedication they give to the students.
“We are dedicated to providing a student-centred approach to learning, based upon practical exercises.
“For each teaching session our students experience, they also have the opportunity to put that theory into practice.
“The central importance of these practical sessions has, according to the students, been crucial to the high levels of student satisfaction.
Professor Lewis added: “For such a young team to achieve such recognised quality in such a short amount of time is testament to the emphasis that both Glyndŵr University and the division of Psychology, place on the student experience.
“Attracting students from a wide range of backgrounds, as we do in psychology, provides both a unique opportunity and a unique challenge to the staff.
“The staff in the division of psychology are to be commended for their hard work and diligence as we move forward to seeing our first psychology students graduate this November.
“The challenge for the team now is to ensure that the quality of student experience is maintained, through continuing pastoral support and through the imagination needed to generate and apply meaningful and exciting practicals in light of our increasing student numbers.
“The results of this survey were based on the BSc (Hons) Psychology student cohort, and the division of psychology looks forward to receiving the results for its postgraduate students.”
