Centre for the Creative Industries to host business networking session
30 April 2012
Glyndŵr University is opening the doors of its Centre for the Creative Industries to local businesses this week to mark one year since its opening.
Glyndŵr Innovations is running a networking session at the centre, on Mold Road, Wrexham, on Thursday 3 May from 10am to 2pm.
As well as having the opportunity to tour the building, visitors will receive free Starbucks coffee and chicken from Nando’s, who will be cooking barbeque food at the entrance to the centre throughout the day. Crafts produced by north Wales based entrepreneurs will also be on show.
Jemma Kinch, of Glyndŵr Innovations, said: “The Centre for the Creative Industries is a facility which is here for the local community and local businesses, not just our own students, and we hope to share some of the opportunities which it offers on the day.”
The £5m Centre for the Creative Industries opened in March 2011 to provide a new hub in the region for the industry – promoting collaboration between art and design, computing and engineering.
It features state-of-the-art TV studios and Apple Mac suites and is the new home of BBC Cymru Wales in Wrexham.
