Live web chat to offer student finance insight
21 November 2011
AN ONLINE advice session is set to dispel myths about student finance and the true cost of studying at university.
Glyndŵr University will be holding a live web chat on Wednesday, November 23 to give prospective students the chance to explore the options and support available to them.
The chat will be hosted by university ‘money doctor’ Beryl Dixon, an expert on the student finance system and the issues faced by students in finding information on fees and funding.
Beryl said: “The system can appear confusing and there are differences between the arrangements for students from England and those from Wales.
“I want to reassure prospective students that despite what they may read about rising fees in 2012, there is lots of support out there and they will not have to pay anything for their studies up front.
“At Glyndŵr University fees have been set to avoid burdening students with large amounts of debt after they leave university.
“There is also support available from the university every step of the way. Anyone considering coming to university in 2012 or beyond should join us online for what I hope will be a lively and informative chat about the facts behind student finance.”
