Glyndŵr University lecturer to attend Changing Media Summit
21 March 2011
A Glyndŵr University lecturer is to attend a major conference on the future of the media industry.
Part-time broadcasting and journalism lecturer David Atkinson will be a delegate at the mediaguardian Changing Media Summit 2011, to be held in London on 23 and 24 March.
David, who is also an award-winning freelance journalist, said he was hoping the conference would play a role in developing the University’s courses in his field.
He added: “My particular interest in the department is developing the multimedia and online journalism side of the course.”
Among the speakers at the summit will be Tim Armstrong, CEO and chairman of AOL, ITV chief executive Adam Crozier and BBC technology reporter Rory Cellan-Jones.
David said: “Going to an event like this is a great way to represent the university in a wider networking community, to keep abreast of current issues and current practice in the industry.
“Looking longer-term, it will help to shape the course syllabus for my modules for the next academic year.”
