Scientriffic on Saturday

30 June 2010

There’s lots of science fun available for all the family at the annual Scientriffic event, held this Saturday (3rd July) at Glyndŵr University, Wrexham.

This year’s event has four main themes, Bright Sparks, Animal World, Earth and The Universe and Human Body and Mind. Entrance to Techniquest Glyndŵr, is also included in the admission price.

Some highlights this year include a chance to meet some weird and wonderful creatures at the mini beast zoo; find out why bubbles stick to each other and how if it is possible to make water explode; see how solar energy works and find out how to make homes more energy efficient; join in loads of fun and gooey experiments and even a chance to make lots of noise with our noisy toy activity.

On top of over 40 interactive exhibits are lots of fascinating shows including Science Junkies, a live extreme sports science show which aims to bring to life the science of extreme sports. Scientriffic will also see the return of the much enjoyed bubble show.

Katie Dutton the events co-ordinator said, “This year’s Scientriffic is going to be bigger and better than ever, with the whole event being split into four themes, Bright Sparks, Animal World, Earth and The Universe and Human Body and Mind… There really is something for everyone to enjoy. It’s going to be one of the best days out this summer”
