Wrexham Glyndwr University is to host a landmark broadband conference next week.

The Full Fibre Digital Connectivity for North Wales event has been organised by Deeside Business Forum takes place next Friday (February 23) from 8am-2pm at the Catrin Finch Centre.

It showcase the impressive social and economic benefits that full fibre connectivity can deliver to the region.

The informative day of events features presentations, case studies, speeches, workshops, information on funding, networking opportunities and more.

Forum chairman Askar Sheibani, a member of the University's board, said: "We look forward to welcoming our distinguished delegates from key stakeholders and partner organisations, including all six local authorities.

"The workshops are tailored to suit all types of understanding, from entry level to technical specialist understanding of the technologies surrounding fibre networks."

Mr Sheibani, CEO of Cometek Network Systems, added: "The UK’s fibre optic infrastructure is drastically and embarrassingly far behind that of many European nations such as Romania, Bulgaria and Sweden.
