Wrexham Glyndwr University is the third most inclusive institution in the UK.

The University’s reputation for widening access and student support was reinforced by the ranking in the new Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018.

Teaching quality was deemed another key strength; Wrexham Glyndwr University was named 37th out of 129 overall, while its Education department was number one in the UK.

Education was also ranked second in Wales (sixth in UK) for student experience.

Subjects allied to Medicine were listed number one in Wales and 11th in the UK for teaching quality, and Art and Design was number two in Wales (14th in the UK) in the same section.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Maria Hinfelaar, said: “Congratulations to those departments which had a strong showing in the league table.

“The results show that we are further improving in the areas of teaching quality and student experience, and will continue to strive for better across all categories.”

Professor Hinfelaar believes the University will see a rise in its league table positions in the years to come following its Silver Award in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and work in partnership with the Students' Union to improve retention and teaching and learning.
