Google to headline digital marketing conference at Wrexham Glyndwr University
An insight into Google’s pioneering project to equip small business owners with digital marketing skills will lead a free digital marketing conference backed by Natwest Cymru, Businessline, Click Convert and the FSB.
Wrexham Glyndwr University is hosting Digital Futures on Monday 11 December, where the technology giant will outline how businesses can reach new customers online by learning through its Digital Garage project.
The multi-million pound initiative was started two years ago to help more than 200,000 businesses in the UK boost their digital skills.
Speakers from Click Convert, Creative Catalysts, DNASix, Protos and TBC Marketing complete the line-up for the event, which will also include drop-in business and marketing advice sessions.
Judith Alexander, Zone manager for Wrexham Glyndwr University, said: “Digital marketing is now the dominant form of marketing for thousands of businesses in the UK.
“As a university committed to supporting the growth of the economy, we are delighted to be able to host this free event for the many small and medium sized businesses in the region who may be lacking in the digital skills needed to increase sales, boost turnover and ultimately create new jobs.
“All of our speakers have different areas of expertise within the world of digital marketing and will I’m sure have lots of useful advice to share with everyone.”
Digital Futures is the largest of three business and entrepreneurship events being hosted by the university this autumn.
North Wales Tweet-Up takes place at its Wrexham campus from 7-9pm on Thursday 9 November, followed by a Business Start-Up Fair on Wednesday 15 November from 11am to 2pm.
Exhibitors at the Start-Up Fair include Businessline, BEN Wrexham, Prime Cymru, Princes Trust, Big Ideas Wales, Wrexham Social Enterprise Network, Federation of Small Business, BizMums, Chamber of Commerce and Zone Enterprise Hub & Enterprise Lounge from Wrexham Glyndwr University.
