A RUGBY club’s newest signing is aiming to build a solid foundation.
Glyndŵr University graduate Kelton Evans has joined North Wales Crusaders rugby league side as coordinator of the Fear Nothing Foundation.
The scheme has been created with a view to improving the social, economic and health and wellbeing of the north east Wales community through a variety of projects including street rugby, anti-bullying campaigns and partnerships with businesses and organisations across the region.
Kelton, who gained a first class honours degree in Broadcasting, Journalism and Media Communications at the Wrexham institution, said he is looking forward to the role.
“I’m really pleased to be joining the Crusaders and to take up this position, which will see me help promote a more active lifestyle and sports among people of all ages in areas of north east Wales,” said the 23 year-old, from Wrexham.
“It’s initially a Jobs Growth Wales placement but if it takes off who knows what will happen in the future.
“I’m eager to get my teeth into the role and to help develop the Foundation for the benefit of the community, so it would be great to hear from schools, clubs and other organisations interested in being a part of it.”
Hanna Clarke, general manager at the Crusaders – based at Glyndŵr University Racecourse Stadium – said Kelton is a welcome addition to the team.
She added: “We are delighted to be welcoming Kelton on board with us and are proud of the fact this is another member of staff to have graduated from Glyndŵr University.
“His qualities are obvious and we know he will make a big impact on our new Foundation.”
