Firms in need of a Growth Spurt to attend free event
Businesses in need of a Growth Spurt can attend a free event at Glyndŵr University.
Organised by Abergele-based Outperform Training, the day-long series of workshops will be held at the Catrin Finch Centre in Wrexham on Wednesday (November 26).
Companies are invited to exhibit on the day, and there will be seminars on a wide range of subjects, such as Making emails work for you; Turning Customer Service into Sales, and Why People Buy and Why They Don't.
Outperform’s Managing Director Dawn Roberts says the Growth Spurt sessions will be an escape from the norm for entrepreneurs and the business community.
Students from Glyndŵr University Business School will also be in attendance, supporting activities and garnering vital experience.
“This is going to be a lot different to the business fairs and networking sessions that people are used to,” said Dawn, who recently picked-up a prestigious Investors in People Gold award.
“These events are usually spent aimlessly walking around stands, eating chocolates and receiving bags full of leaflets that nobody ever reads.
“We think it’s time for something more and want to see displays that are relevant to growing a business, giving away tips and tools that actually work.”
She added: “We want those in attendance to answer questions and give advice, rather than just trying to sell.
“I think people would like the opportunity to ask industry experts a question and get the answer for free without a sales pitch or having to buy anything, and that’s what we are giving them here.
“We chose the university as the facilities fit with the professional image we want to project and the support we have received has made managing the event easy and enjoyable. We are really looking forward to Growth Spurt and to working closely with the university in future.”
The idea has the backing of Jacqueline Hughes-Lundy (pictured), the new Tourism, Hospitality and Events lecturer at Glyndŵr.
As founding trustee of the Inspiring Young Women Foundation and Principal of Olivia Henry Associates, she is a leading light on the North West business scene.
“This is a superb event and one we are proud to be a part of,” said Jacqueline.
“The students will gain a lot from being around companies of all sizes, with different messages, products and stories to tell.
“Giving our students access to this level of business expertise as well as supporting local businesses is at the heart of Glyndwr's Business School.”
Growth Spurt runs from 9.30am to 4pm.
