Glyndŵr University to become epicentre for HR in Wales
Glyndŵr University will become the epicentre for HR in Wales and the North West.
That’s the vision of Carrie Foster, an author, consultant and the Wrexham institution’s new MA HRM Programme Leader and Lecturer in Human Resources (HR).
She will be organising regular events and forums to discuss the industry, encouraging professionals and prospective students to make North Wales their destination for all CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) and training needs.
“I want Glyndŵr to become the hub for HR in this region and across the border,” said the 39 year-old.
“This should be the place any HR professional, or anyone wanting to get into this sector, comes to study.
“That’s my mission, and it’s one I’ll be driving over the coming months.”
As well as teaching the CIPD-accredited MA Human Resource Management, Carrie delivers HR and People Resourcing related modules at level 5 and 7.
Designed for specialists who chose to dedicate their careers in a human resources/personnel function, the qualification also appeals to anyone looking to enter the recruitment, management, strategic planning and leadership arenas.
A former executive coach to CEOs at some of the world’s leading suppliers and manufacturers, the married mum-of-two is planning to revamp the university’s HR curriculum in preparation for a re-launch in March 2015.
Carrie is among a group of new business lecturers aiming to put Glyndŵr on the map when it comes to marketing, recruitment and professionalism in industry.
“I am passionate about helping people be the best that they can be and delivering organisational performance and transformational change,” she said.
“We will be delivering digital lectures, interactive learning and skills and behavioural development vital in these functions – nowhere else will be doing this to our standard.
“When people want HR or professional development, this is where they will come because we will put their needs first. That’s why Glyndwr university is so popular in business; flexibility, delivery and close partnerships with these sectors.”For more information, visit the website: www.glyndwr.ac.uk/en/postgraduatecourses/mahumanresourcemanagement/
